"Authenticity,
Inclusivity,
Empowerment"

Teaching Mission

In voice lessons, my job is to help you bring your whole self into your singing. That includes your experiences, your voice, your goals, and the stories you want to tell. I teach technique, of course, but I also bring in elements of theory, acting, performance, history, and repertoire that help you become a well-rounded, expressive artist. I believe that every singer learns differently, and my job is to meet you where you are and support your unique process.

We will build your technique through exercises that are tailored to your specific goals. Whether you’re just starting out or preparing for auditions or performances, we’ll focus on breathing, resonance, registration, and articulation in ways that make sense for your body and voice. But more than anything, I want you to leave our lessons knowing how to practice. That’s the real key to long-term growth. When you start to understand your own voice and how it works, that’s when your singing starts to feel honest, free, and fully yours.

I pay close attention to what each student needs physically and emotionally, and I try to create a space where you can be challenged and supported at the same time. My studio is a space where your identity and your voice are welcome.

As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, building an inclusive and affirming studio is deeply important to me. I work with students of all backgrounds and experience levels, and I currently teach several trans folks. I make it a priority to keep learning, so I can keep showing up in the best way possible for every student who walks into my studio.

I also believe that the music we study should reflect the world we live in. I love the standard repertoire, but I also teach Spanish art song, music by Black American composers, and works by LGBTQIA+ and other underrepresented artists. The goal is not just to build vocal skills, but to connect more deeply with the music and with the people who wrote it.

Student Successes

Each student's journey is their own and I am happy to be a part of it.

My students have been accepted to degree programs at Mannes, Rutgers, Manhattan School of Music, Montclair, and William Paterson. They’ve also performed with the Oratorio Society of New York, participated in the Austria Summer Music Festival, and placed in the NATS Eastern Regional Auditions.
